Been having a UTI for two weeks...?

I went to my doctor when my symptoms first started and she prescribed me bactrim. I've taken bactrim for UTIs in the past and it's always been successful. This time, however, by day nine I realized it wasn't helping. In fact, it was getting worse. I felt like I needed to see a doctor ASAP, so I went to the ER. The ER doctor prescribed me cipro for 7 days. I just finished day 2.

I looked up online and found that most people felt relief within 24 hours of beginning cipro. I've had no relief as of yet. My main question would be: Could it be taking longer because I've had the infection for so long? Or is cipro not working either?

I'm just so tired of hurting..

Ive had a UTI for 2 weeks before mine was gone within a week. And almost the next day I felt relief of the pain. I would go back to the doc and see whats up. It might be something else.

    Hope that helps
