I'm 25. I'm from Houma, La. I don't like far right conservatives, but I also don't like far left liberals. I think I am in the middle. I love to watch comedians and listen to their CDs while I drive (helps with the road rage). And my favorite channels to watch are Travel Channel and Discovery Channel (Mythbusters is the bomb). I love animals, and I enjoy listening to music. My favorite place in the world is New Orleans. Going to the French Quarter to party is the best, except during Mardi Gras, when all the drunk tourists come down. It cracks me up that they think all Mardi Gras is about is getting drunk and flashing their boobs for a cheap plastic necklace that I could buy at a store for less than $1. I love my fiance Kenneth with all my heart. And, lastly, I can't stand people who insult other people because they have issues with themselves that they have to project onto others to make themselves feel better about their inadequacies.

  • Dream about worms under skin...?

I think I've had this dream twice now. In the dreams, when I'm in the shower or the rain, these black worm-things start crawling out of my skin. A hole appears that they slither out of, but once they're out, the hole closes. They were mostly coming out of my chest, near my collar bones. At one point, the skin between my breasts rose up, and I could see a mound of them under my skin (*gag*).

I'm in a funk because of that dream.

Any thoughts as to what it may signify?

  • Looking for a book in spirituality for a friend.?

I have a friend who is gay but in the closet with his family. He was raised in a catholic home by parents who are very loving but say awful things about homosexuality. Since he lives at home, he's not in a good place. He's having a hard time reconciling his faith/spirituality with who he is. Can anyone recommend a book about balancing personal life with spirituality?

  • Best way to cook pork chops..?

I have 4 seasoned, boneless, think cut, fresh pork chops (relatively small). What is the net way to cook these?

Keep in mind, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to cooking, so the easier, the better. And please list all steps and details.

  • I'm in desperate need of advice on how to relieve a persistant cough...?

I got sick on Dec 9, started to recover, then got worse again around Dec 22. Throughout most of that, I've had this persistent cough deep in my chest that was caused by a tickle or a feeling like water had gone down the wrong pipe. The last couple of days, it's been particularly bad, to the point that I can't sleep at night. I've tried Robitussin cough and chest congestion and Mucinex, but neither has worked. Do you know of anything that could help? My throat is raw and I'm so tired..

  • My boyfriend's eye is pink, but it's not pinkeye..?

For thanksgiving, my husband, mother-in-law and I went to Texas to visit my brother-in-law and the family and came back the day after. Since the 29th, half his eye was pink. I just assumed it was eye strain since he was driving.

Well, his eye is still red. Any idea as to what it might be?

  • What type of shoe inserts should I buy?

I bought a pair of booties with a 3 inch heel. They aren't cushioned, so the bottom is flat and it made the balls of my feet really tender. Any specific inserts you think I should buy? (I don't usually wear heels, so I'm not sure what to get).

  • Been having a UTI for two weeks...?

I went to my doctor when my symptoms first started and she prescribed me bactrim. I've taken bactrim for UTIs in the past and it's always been successful. This time, however, by day nine I realized it wasn't helping. In fact, it was getting worse. I felt like I needed to see a doctor ASAP, so I went to the ER. The ER doctor prescribed me cipro for 7 days. I just finished day 2.

I looked up online and found that most people felt relief within 24 hours of beginning cipro. I've had no relief as of yet. My main question would be: Could it be taking longer because I've had the infection for so long? Or is cipro not working either?

I'm just so tired of hurting..

  • A website that shows average grocery prices by state..?

Some friends and I are going to Tennessee for a week in February. We're trying to discern whether it would be cheaper to buy the non-perishables in our state (Louisiana) and buy the perishables up there, or wait and do all our shopping there.

  • Based on this criteria, what books should I read?

I really like romance with action and a strong female lead. For example, I really love Nora Roberts and the YA books like Bloodlines, Vampire Academy, House of Night series, and I just finished reading the Fever series by Karen Moning. I really dislike books where the female is weak and annoying and needs a man to take care of her.

    Got any suggestions?

  • How to deal with a dying parent..?

My step-dad (who is the only dad I've ever known) is dying. He's 68 and losing weight rapidly, barely eats, and sits in his recliner all day and doesn't get up unless it's to use the bathroom. He doesn't look good.

I need to prepare for it. My mom is closer to me than she is to my brother, and I know she's going to lean heavily on me when my dad's time comes. I don't do well with grief. My first instinct is to make jokes and try to lighten the mood (humor is my coping mechanism), but that's not going to cut it.

Basically, is there a site or forum that helps you mentally prepare for the death of a loved one? (Preferably nothing religious. I'm an atheist and my mom knows it, and I wouldn't want to be disingenuous.)

  • What music should I listen to while reading Mortal Instruments?

I like to listen to Pandora in the background while I'm reading, but my Beatles station just doesn't work. What's a good song or artist to start a station on that fits the tone of the books?

  • Good drugstore moisturizing mask?

I just started a new skin regimen and - while it's helping my breakouts [mostly] - it's drying out my skin. Can anyone recommend a decent moisturizing mask that I could pick up at CVS or Walgreens?

  • Period symptoms while ovulating..?

I've been keeping track of my period (since there's an app for that) for a couple of years now. I've had a regular period (generally within 3 days of when the app said I would be getting my period).

I got my last period on time, though it came a few days early (on the 5th) and it ran a day or two shorter than my normal six days. Now I'm supposed to be ovulating, but since Sunday I've been having brown/red blood (mostly brown, like old blood, and it's not a heavy flow... more like heavy spotting) with clots and very mild cramps. I'm not on any medication. I did work a ton of overtime last week, so I don't know if the extra stress could have something to do with it..? And other than a hint if cramps, there's no pain.
