What music should I listen to while reading Mortal Instruments?
I like to listen to Pandora in the background while I'm reading, but my Beatles station just doesn't work. What's a good song or artist to start a station on that fits the tone of the books?

It all depends on what you like, quiet music is the best but it depends on what part of the book you are at (I won't give any spoilers) if you are closer to the beginning when Clary meets Jace, it is easier to listen to classical that is flowing and river like (i.e. The Limpid Stream) as you get closer to the end with Valentine, darker, rich music maybe some soft lyrics but nothing to heavy.
That is just my opinion, and I LOVE those books. I'm scared that they might ruin the movie. . .
When you finish TMI book/series, if you like it I would totally recommend The Infernal Devices Series, it is the Prequel of TMI but it helps if you read the TMI series first. For me personally The Infernal Devices is better than The Mortal Instruments. but I love them both!

I have pretty much vowed never to come to this category - but I have to break it just for this question! I LOVE The Mortal Instruments.
I personally like to listen to a Hot Adult Contemporary station when I read books, especially that one. There's lots of softer rock, and the favorites of the 90's and 2000's. Something about Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavinge remind me of the the book, so maybe try them.
