My laptop will not let me print and this is starting to become an issue. Any troubleshooting advice?

Whenever I print something, I go downstairs right next to my printer, turn it on, and click print on my laptop. However, after a few seconds of doing that a little window pops up saying that an error occured. I am confused as to why this is happening. A few weeks ago, I was able to print with no problem at all and all of a sudden, I'm getting this error. I know the printer is still working and it says that the wireless is enabled on both my laptop and the printer. The internet is working just fine in my house and my laptop is functioning fine. What is the issue here? Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks in advance

check the ip addresses of all your devices, do you have IPAD or IPOD on your WIFI?

it s possible to have multiple devices pickup the same IP address, when one device is in "sleep" mode - - sounds impossible, but it happened to me

best bet is to set router to limit the DHCP addresses to a range, like 50 - 200

then set you printer to something below 50

with an "non-DHCP" fixed address at the printer, your conflict should stop.

this is what fixed my version of this problem
