Should a patient who is depressed see a doctor when she has an episode?
Me and my girlfriend have a friend who is on anti-depressants. She has just changed onto a different drug as the previous one was making her drowsy and ill. She had an episode today, should she go to the doctor so it can be monitored?

The drugs will take a while to get into her system properly so she may have some episodes for a few weeks. However, if the episode was serious and she hurt herself then you should contact her doctor and see what they can do,

If she has just started the medication then I would wait, drugs can sometimes take time to take effect. But if you are really concerned then I would recommend seeing a doctor and get their personal view, they are the professionals after all.
