depending on what type of vampires you speak of, but most state you get stronger with age so Id go with Vampire but some werewolves in some novels I read can get nasty, but most state you don't want to run in with a vamp

If life was D&D, vampires by a big chunk, much higher level adjustment. Even with the drawbacks, still more advantages to the vampire template than the were templates.

In legends and myths, these were just referred to as werewolves or vampires. No distinction was given to them.
