Ed Milliband Energy Prices?

Ed Milliband - I have just seen him on Watchdog talking about how he will fight for electricity companies to freeze or lower their prices for a year or so and so save the average UK household about £50 a year. Sounds good so far. I have 2 questions about this:

Is the £50 to £100 more or less than the average household spends on the Labour parties fuel duty tax accelerator that Ed Milliband helped introduce when Gordon Brown was apparently in charge?

Second question is how long will it be before he raises taxes to claim that saving as increases in tax?

    Good points........

In addition what happens between now and a potential election....do the energy companies raise prices to cover any possible freeze....or what happens once the freeze finishes?

If he wants to give people a helping hand why not scrap the TV licence fee? That will give £145 back to each household, and it won't cost a penny!

Good questions, and I defy Ed Miliband to answer them. Meanwhile, all his announcement about freezing energy prices has done so far is to depress the share prices of gas and electricity companies. For a man who did PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) at Oxford, this displays a total lack of grasp of economic reality. Which is about normal for Labour.
