Removing guitar string squeaks?
I have some beautiful mp3 songs that are, for me, ruined by squeaks from the guitar strings.
I know those high-pitched squeaks don't bother many people. They consider the squeaks to be just part of guitar music. But the squeaks really bother me. I guess I just have very sensitive ears.
I've tried to isolate and remove the squeaks using Wavepad, but I haven't had much luck.
Does anyone know of any programs or methods that might be useful here?
Thanks!

Do you mean squeals? Kinda like a horse?
You'll definately notice a difference in the rest of the song if you plan on taking out that sound from the rest of the track.
I'd use a cheap DAW (Garageband, etc.) and find a band pass filter, or even a normal multiband equaliser.
Cut the track around the areas you dislike the squeals, and move the rest to a different track (otherwise your going to be removing those frequencies from the entire song).
Try to find the frequencies that annoy you the most. Electric guitars range from about 80-1200 Hz, the squeals should be on the higher end. Good luck.
