    Brawlers tend to be very wild and swing a-lot. They can usually take considerable amounts of punishment and are very aggressive fighters, they have awkward offensive styles. It could be argued that Rocky Marciano was a brawler but many call him a Swarmer due to his sheer amount of pressure-fighting.

    Sluggers are slower but more powerful, far more powerful. They usually have a good jab and can't be bullied around, inside-fighters just can't beat these guys. They throw more uppercuts and hayemakers generally but they're big guys. A young George Foreman was a Slugger.

    Sluggers beat Brawlers. Believe you me, if you're a Brawler and you're going up against a Slugger, don't bother Brawling, just box.

    @Alkhal, Tyson wasn't a Slugger. He was a Swarmer.

    Sluggers: Julian Jackson, Mike Tyson, Kostya Tsyo, Aaron Pryor, Terry Norris, Gerald McClellan

    Brawlers: Chavez sr, Roberto Duran, Henry Armstrong, Roman Gonzalez, Bobby Chacon

    Great brawlers typically can take more punishment and are required to have great chins cause they stand toe to toe and are willing to receive punishment to dish some of their own. Where sluggers like Julian Jackson didnt have much punch resistance but once he hit u, its lights out

    Sluggers do have more power than brawlers so they typically pick their spots and more calculated, not to say they have better defense but they are more defensive minded. Keep in mind both Duran and Chavez in their prime had much better defense than Julian Jackson but took more risks cause they were more offensive minded.

    Also u can be a great brawler like Jake Lammota and Carmen Basillio and not have that much power, cause they make it up with their endurance and volume. But because sluggers have more power, they can afford to not have great punch resistance or lack great stamina.
