Should I care what people I don't know think of me?
I have a drinking problem at times and I spouted off in a video game forum. I used to have a reputation as a good player but now people think I'm sort of nuts and I'm embarrassed to where I don't want to play anymore. Should I really care about strangers on a game? Am I over-thinking this?

First, you have to solve your drinking problem. After you get to set things right for yourself then i don't think you would need to care about what others think about you anymore.

hi I think you should seperate the people whoes oppinion you should care (family and friends) and others. Your family will only good for you and tat is important not what the kid is saying from the other end of the planet! And beside this if you know you have a drinking problem than the hardest step you already have made!

Normally I would say no... but as you said you have a drinking problem (at times). I would say take it as a warning sign of bad things to come if you continue drinking as you do. I drink but I have no problem with it... if you do I would recommend that you take it seriously as you cannot even imagine how bad a substance abuse problem can damage your health and reputation further on down the road of life.

I wouldn't really bother about what other people think if I know that I have nothing to be ashamed of. But if you believe that there is something that needs some improvement in you then do that but do it for yourself and not to please other people.
In my opinion, you would only get disappointed and hurt if you base your happiness on what other people thinks of you because we can never ever please everyone. Aim instead on improving yourself for your betterment but make sure that there is no one that gets hurt or affected adversely in the process.
