MICROSOFT WORD 2010-i can only type half of sentence before it goes to another line help?

Hi,

Word 2010 is only letting me type half of a sentence across like normal to the right before it automatically types the rest on the next line. For example,

sadsadsad asdsda

sadasdsd adasdasd

addasdsd adadad

My document looks like that !! How do i get it to be normal again and type for the whole space to the right?? e.g like this sentence fills up the whole line/space

HELP!! it automatically did this and i don't know why!

thanks

You need to check your page size and margins, and then your paragraph margins. I suspect one of them is way off base.

On the bottom right of the Word screen you will see a few icons. Click on Print Layout.

At the top of the vertical slider on the right side of the screen you will see a tiny icon to View Ruler. Click on this. If you double-click on the top half of the Ruler, you will open the Page Setup dialog box where you can change margins.

Click on the ¶ icon on the Home tab, Paragraph group. This will show non-printing characters such as the spaces between words and paragraph markers.

Click on the % figure at the bottom right of the screen and select Page Width.

On the Ruler you can see both the right and left margins. When you mouse over these triangles, you will see their purpose. You can highlight the area you want to change and drag the triangles along the Ruler.

Not all of these steps may be necessary, but you will be able to see the formatting that is causing your problem.
