Atheists and Theists, what is the difference you see between god and religion?

They're different. if you cant see that, go back to the 1st grade. How do you see that difference? How do you explain it and the confusion people get into when blending them in 1 bs soup..

God cannot be explained and is a matter of faith. Religion is the physical manifestation of mans interpretation of God and IMO has more to do with obeying the rule of man than God.

There is a slight difference between beliefs (not requiring a god) and faiths (requiring a god) but neither are based in fact only in the dedication of the individual.

Gods are simply a product of mankind's colorful and creative imagination attempting to explain, come to terms with and identify with that which they fee is significant in life but can not understand.

Facts invalidate faiths and beliefs and makes the concept a science or minimally a theory and anyone attempting to provide such are either "want to be" Theists, Agnostics or fools for it demonstrates not only that they do not understand the essence of each but do not possess either.

God - in invisible mythical entity, like Santa, that some people think is not imaginary.

Religion - a institution established under the rules of a corporate charter. Religions are real.

    Another example:

the pitcher is religion. the air inside it is religion.

As a Christian, I see God as the uncreated Creator of this universe and all life (check out John 1:1-3 for that, and the link with Jesus.)

I see religion as the various acts of worship I carry out due to my belief in God. Acts of worship include how I deal with my neighbours, being honest with the Tax-man, the language I use (and don't use), striving to be forgiving.... not just public acts of worship in a place of worship.

In my own life I found a lot of confusion I suffered with my upbringing melted away one Jesus received the proper place He should have in my life as a Christian. AiH

Gods can NOT exist without religions to deliver them.

Religions are usually delivery systems for gods.

I have no idea how some people blend them into one.

    They're probably stupid.

A supreme being would not care for worship and it seems from the lack of evidence it doesn't care if you even believe in it. Religion makes God seem rather foolish, but that's impossible.

""what is the difference you see between god and religion?""

    Gods are all Imaginary....

Religions are all based on worshiping Imaginary gods..

Not much of a difference is there

    God is a concept

    Religion is a practice

They are one and the same.

Once you postulate a "god"....you must then determine what that god wants from you, and create religion.

A god that does nothing, wants nothing, provides nothing and expects nothing...might be possible without any religion attached....but mankind has never invented that kind of god.

Once you start inventing this god's needs or demands or desires....you create a religion.

God is the thingee, and religion is the expression of someone's devotion to that thingee.

Well, that definition of religion is really quite naïve. Religion is an amalgam of politics, psychology, culture, history, brainwashing, personal opinion, advertising, finance, and other components.
