Why are people posting questions as if the bill has passed?

It still has to get past the Tea Party contingent in the GOP House. Hasn't anybody heard a wounded animal is the most dangerous? I have no confidence in them doing the right thing. I believe they want to watch the country burn.

Update:

@ Libz Rulz--Still bomb-throwing, I see. And still not adding anything to add to sensible discourse. Pity.

I'm seeing the craziest spin on this subject but I don't care. The important thing is that they get it done. We've waited too long and may still suffer some market damage. I hope not but here's the word from the various credit agencies yesterday and today:

Moody's: Lowering US Treasuries to "negative watch" status

Fitch: Reviewing the United States' credit rating

Standard and Poor's: If the US defaults, their credit rating will go from AA+ to D

Too darn close to the brink, just like summer 2011. I hope some learning gets done this time.

The only way it won't pass in the house is if the speaker won't allow the vote. He might not considering a majority of republicans won't vote for the bill.

The last bill on the subject sent from the senate to the house would have passed if the speaker would have allowed the vote, but he didn't because it didn't have majority support from his party.

Your country is burning and Obama is throwing the gasoline. I have a feeling they may make a couple of changes to the Senate bill but I could be wrong. Obama has already given his speech that the crisis is over. The Democrats on here don't even think the Republicans should have the right to vote. That is very clear.

Boehner supports it, so he'll bring it to a vote in the Congress. Between the Democrats and the remaining non-Tea Party-tainted Republicans, it'll pass.

If it doesn't, and the US goes into default, the GOP will be demonized for decades to come. It won't matter to the Tea Party loons, but essentially, every other Republican in the House, Senate, and hoping to run for President, just lost their race before it even starts.

Because Boehner is allowing it to come up for a vote in the House!

There are enough sane republicans in the house to pass it!

The tea party does not have enough votes to stop it. ***** head would not put it up for a vote that will lose or else he might not leave Washington with a pulse.

Wishful thinking I guess. It'll pass, but not before making the country sweat and worry over it.

What is the right thing? Ignore the wishes of their constituents and vote the way the party bosses tell them to? Yep! Sounds about right where libbies are concerned

No. The money men have spoken. The Tea-party isn't actually real. Money is real.

Because it will pass. The tea party doesn't have enough votes to stop it from passing.
