Shipping from Hawaii help?

Will first off this is my original shipping question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201310...

Now it says this:

Depart USPS Sort Facility

Your item departed our HONOLULU, HI 96820 sort facility on October 16, 2013. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

So... Does that mean it's on the boat to me(I live in california) or that it's just on the truck to the boat and hasnt been shipped yet... In normal land to land shipping cases I know this would mean they departed for the "main" post-office, then be sent out for delivery... But this is my first time buying from Hawaii and even the seller said things ship slow/different from here. Thanks.

Update:

Thanks for the help, i guess not many others have been in a similar situation, oh well I learned my lesson, only buy from the lower 48, haha.

It means it's on its way from Hawaii to California. They'll update it when it's scanned at a post office in California. Mail goes by air, so you should see an update in a day or two.

The initial delivery date was based on the date the label was printed and the more accurate date provided by USPS was based on when it was actually given to USPS and the destination and class of service.
