It seems impossible to access my Twitter account. Can you help?

My PC has just been reconfigured (it was terminally ill). Now I can't access Twitter and it is behaving so oddly that I don't know where to start. When I go to www.twitter.com, I get a login page. I entered my details - but nothing happens. When I delete the password and click 'forgotten password' (just in case) it tells me I'm logged in and must first log out - but there is no way on the screen to do this. Lower down the screen there's a line of small writing saying "About Help Blog Status" etc If I click on 'Help', or anything else for that matter, it goes to a screen saying "Unauthorized!" and nothing I do can get me out of that screen. I've tried disabling add-ons (I'm working in Firefox), which doesn't help. I just can't think what else to do.

It doesn't help that the PC is networked to the laptop so now I have the same thing there. I can access Twitter on my iPhone but really want it back on PC and laptop.

Thanks, RP, much appreciated. I can now add that the same happens in Internet Explorer.

Update 2:

It's my only Twitter account. I've just had a response from Twitter support to reset my password but I have no conviction at all that this will work. No choice but to try, however....

Wayhay!!!!! I managed to get to somewhere in Twitter where I could request help, by dint of someone I communicated with on Facebook sending me a personal Twitter message. And, to my amazement, the password reset has worked! I have no comprehension of any of this, but all I care about is that I can now access Twitter!!!

    Sorry,Ambi. I'm computer illiterate. All I can do is star the question in the hope that any tech savvy contacts I might have will see it and offer a solution.

    Hey! I am having the exact same problem with mine and have just asked this question! It's so confusing, can i ask if this is your only twitter account? As this is my second account that is locking me out, and like you said it is saying i'm logged in but i'm not and theres no way to log out1 Really frustrated can't find any help online
