How do you calculate the concentrations of ammonium ions and sulfate ions?

A solution is prepared by dissolving 25.5 g of ammonium sulfate in enough water to make 100.0 mL of stock solution. A 11.40-mL sample of this stock solution is added to 50.90 mL of water. Calculate the concentration of ammonium ions and sulfate ions in the final solution.

NH4+ __M

SO42- __M

It's the only problem I have left for webassign and I have one more try to get it right! I've tried so many things but I can't seem to get the right answer. PLEASE HELP! Due at midnight.

calculate the no of moles of (nh4)2 so2

it contains ammonium ions to sulphate ions in the ratio 2:1

ull prolly get 0.193 moles of salt in 100 ml of water 1 dm3 = 1000ml

    so its 1.93 x10^(-4) moles per dm3

    multiply it with 11.40 / 1000

thats the no of moles of salt in (50.9+11.4) ml of solution

for 1 mol of salt there is one mol of sulphate ions

so the salt conc = the no of sulphate mol.

Sul. mol x 2 gives you Ammonium conc
