Where are the 2 places in the world where the noble metals (gold, silver, platinum) are found close together?
I know one such place is the Similkimeen River in B.C., Canada. The other is allegedly in Siberia, but where exactly? Oh yeah; silver is magnetic, gold is not. How about platinum? (easier to pan magnetically, eh?). There may be more than 2 such areas, I don't know...

I believe you are confusing the placer Pt-Au deposits of the Tulameen River with the Similkameen River.
Pt and Au are both heavy and resistant minerals which can form placer deposits in secondary environments. So the type of metals found in placer deposits depends on the geology of the provenance area. In addition to the Tulameen River, Pt is found in Au placers in Nevada County, California; Goodnews Bay, Alaska; Barker Creek, Yukon; Ural Mountains, Russia; and Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia where ultramafic rocks are present.
I assure you that silver is NOT magnetic. The only common magnetic minerals contain iron, and very rarely, cobalt and nickel. A few Pt-bearing minerals are sligthly magnetic, but native Pt is not.
