Those very familiar with the Bay View area of San Francisco... walking 7 blocks in this neighborhood?

To those who know the Third street neighborhood, I need your advice. I've lived in the Tenderloin district for 7 years, so I'm not afraid of sketchy people as long as Im not gonna get robbed or shot lol. I have honestly NEVER been to the Thirds street/Bay View neighborhood because I know it can be very dangerous. I need to run a quick errand over there at a health clinic on Monday, and I am planning on walking about 7 blocks, daytime, around 1:00PM. This will be around the 3rd/Caroll T stop and 3rd/Gilman/Paul T stop. Should I be worried??? Im a 25 year old white girl...

THANKS!

Update:

I will be taking the T muni line to 3/Caroll, walking a block to the health clinic, and then walking around 6 blocks to 3rd/ Gillman to take the 29 bus to my next destination. Instead of walking the 6 blocks I COULD take the T line to go exactly one stop haha, but i dont want to have to idle and wait at the T bus stop, because I feel that is even less safe than just walking over to gillman street at a fast pace.

I talked to a muni driver today who said he lives right there and gave me similar advice, but assured I will survive haha!

Update 2:

oh and tonalc thank you for the shuttle info! however muni will be most convenient for me as i coming from downtown and then i need to go to balboa park.

thanks for all answers!!!

I'd take precautions, not take a purse or wear gold jewelry. You should be fine, I would not suggest it at night, but midday is good.

You dont have to worry about walking during the day and many families live on San Bruno Ave or Third St near Bayshore. What do you mean T stop?

Good answers (keep your wits about you, don't be on your phone).

I also find that there is a shuttle that might take you directly to your destination:

25 White Female you should be worried walking anywhere.

You should be OK, bring the bare minimum with you, ID, and a few $.

Stay off your smart phone and take a bus or trolly if you can. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AT ALL TIMES.
