How to stop my mother pressuring me to get a girlfriend?
I am a 21 year old guy. I have had a few relationships in the past but nothing for a few years, and I have done so by choice. I am not turning gay, and I don't have to explain it to anybody, I just don't feel like it. OK.
Whenever I come home from college, my mother starts pressuring me to find one, and it ticks me off so bad. It always ends up being an argument and she ends up getting upset. Not to give anyone the wrong idea, but I am not the kind of kid that is either a momma's boy or just has mommy issues. I typically do not let her nag me about anything and have assumed the dominant role in our relationship. I am actually one of those kids that is just quite distant from his parents, so I don't usually tell her anything anyway. But, all of that nonsense was just to make sure that nobody gives me that "Someone has mommy issues" crap.
Can somebody, hopefully that person is a mother herself, please give me some advice as to how to make her stop?
@jeff Oh she's my mother. She was hardly ever a part of my life and I could care less, but she's my mother. You sound about as useless as my old man, who is also, ironically, named Jeff. Only in the biological use of the word mother.

Tell her if she keeps badgering you about it you'll turn gay. She must understand this line as a joke, if not it'll backfire. Then, each time she does nag DON'T FEED THE TROLL, instead refer back to it. If you resist seriously, you give her nourishment. Mocking resistance is not real resistance. Instead, just say how hot the guys at the gym looked, especially that exotic Fernando guy. Mmm. If she keeps KEEPS badgering, just put it back on her - you're ok with being single, so why does she have a problem? As soon as you show you're wearing down, it'll encourage her. This is actually all about boundaries, and you need to establish some with her, coz at the moment she's treading on your toes and you don't like it.
Remember it becomes your problem if you forget that it can be just her problem.
