My laptop won't talk to my printer. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?

So, my internet is fine, the printer is fine because I've tried printing with other laptops wirelessly and it works fine.

Just my laptop won't work and it's bothering me because it was working fine about a month ago. I have a windows 8 Dell Inspiron laptop. Is there a troubleshoot I can do or something? I can usually figure these things out but I'm really stumped on this one. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not going to screw with the network because I know it's not the connection it is solely something in the laptop.

Whenever I do try to print, the printing window pops up and it stays there for a bit then an error pops up saying that the document could not be printed.

Someone please give me something to do to fix this. Thank you.

Make sure that printing is not paused. Double click the printer icon, check under file on the taskbar. Try "add a new printer" under devices and printers. See if your computer can refind this on the network. If so, then reinstall , select "use same driver". Try sharing the printer on the network using your other computers. Make sure the printer and computer are on the same default gateway.

Hello in your control Panel Printer and other hardware printer and faxes do you see a check by your printer if not make a Right click on it and set as Default printer. Gemini PS. you much let your laptop update go to System in your Control Panel and check the box Automatic Updates

Go to your printer and look up the IP address.

Now Add Printer on your laptop and place the IP address in place of the Printer Name.

This normally works even if your laptop cannot find the printer.
