What is going on with america right now?

I've seen alot about america on the news lately but I've never had time to watch it. People have been saying things about Obama and stuff? What is actually happening?

I'll try to encapsulate it for you:

Immediately after Obama was elected, the clown Mitch McConnel said that it was the goal of the republicans to make him a one term president.

So, after that statement, the republicans proceeded to reject each and every bill that the Obama White House offered, no matter how much it hurt Americans. They became the 'Party of No'. Our country suffered, especially since the republicans had allowed our country to sink into a great recession during the bush years. Their childish partisan efforts just hurt Americans more. Of course, the actual leaders would never know how their actions hurt us.

The vile and stupid tea party factions manufactured false rumors and propaganda and claimed that the Obama administration was Socialist or even Communist. It's been six years and the truth is evident that main problem are the fools who keep trying to scare people (fox news, for example) with crazy ideas. We're Ok, but we could be a LOT better if it weren't for right wing tea party nuts.

Republicans are having a tenture tantrum because they don't like big old mean Obama and its not even because of "Obama care" It's because they are hell bent on seeing him fail but its mainly the tea party they are the worst party to come along saying ignorant things like No Taxation at all and crap like that and they ended up holding the whole country hostage because they didn't get there way. It's just one big mess if you asked me, both parties need to be kicked out

It is very simple the US unlike the UK have a horrible political system, rather then voating in a party who has a leader who will become president, they vote the president individually then the party.

Now the president does not even have a majority vote, rendering him powerless. The latest events show how flawed the system really is.

I wish I knew. I don't know either and I live in Chicago.

Basically you have a president and his Democratic friends going on a Greek-style spending spree with only some of the Republicans worried about the looming Greek-style correction in the future. Obama has done everything he can to increase the dependence of the economy on federal spending. Meanwhile Obama and his friends have done a pretty good job of smearing the opposition with hysterical rhetoric about how they are hijacking the economy, being terrorists or linking economic conservatism with racism. Since everyone is encouraged to have an opinion no matter how uninformed it is, the Democrats and Obama are winning. As a result in 2016 the Democrats will regain a majority in the House of Representatives, put Pelosi back in charge, at which time you will see what a real mess looks like. I'm hunkering down and am afraid to watch any more.

it is being brought to it's long planned destiny and people who are still asleep and delusional will finally awaken to discover to their shock what they really meant by "change".
