women in the army reserve?

So my girlfriend is thinking of joining the army reserve by the age of 20, (she's 17 at the moment, im 19 at the moment).

my questions are:

-she's thinking of staying for the 8 year contract, how often would i see her?

-after the 8 year contract, would she still be considered as a reserve soldier? or a full time civilian?

-there is a reserve base about 30 mins away from where she lives, so would the nearest base be the place where she would be attending?

-(this ties in with the first question) how many days throughout the week would I be able to see her?

-she told me how she would be absent through the weekends and be home through the weekdays, how accurate is that?

-can she live within her own place when not in training days?

-with the Syria situation going on, what are the chances that she will have to be deployed overseas?

-can she keep a civilian career while in the army reserve?

-is it more or less likely to be sexually harassed/assaulted in an army reserve base, or a base with active duty soldiers? and why?

thank you for your time and answers.

-she's thinking of staying for the 8 year contract, how often would i see her? Unless she is activated she will only be away one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer.

-after the 8 year contract, would she still be considered as a reserve soldier? or a full time civilian? If she reenlists she would still be a reserve soldier. If she does not she would be a civilian.

-there is a reserve base about 30 mins away from where she lives, so would the nearest base be the place where she would be attending? Depends on her MOS. If they have a need for her MOS at that base, she would likely do her drills there. If not she would have to go to another base.

-(this ties in with the first question) how many days throughout the week would I be able to see her? See answer above

-can she live within her own place when not in training days? Yes

-with the Syria situation going on, what are the chances that she will have to be deployed overseas? Not likely

    - As a reservist, you'll be able to see her every day, except for about 39 days per year (besides for basic and AIT).

    - Her initial contract will be for 6 years in the reserves. The last 2 years would be IRR, when she's basically just on call and doesn't even work those 39 days per year.

    - If that's the unit she joins, yes

    - She'll only work one weekend a month, and two weeks in the summer. How often you see her around that is on you.

    - She'd be gone just ONE weekend a month. Not every weekend. And that "weekend" is usually just Friday afternoon-noonish Sunday.

-She can live wherever she wants. Army's not paying for it, so Army doesn't care.

-She's not thinking of joining for 3 years. Who the hell knows what will be going on then.

    -Yes

-She's more likely to be harrassed or assaulted at college than in the military

How cow dude, do some fricking homework.

The Reserve is a PART TIME job numbnuts.

After initial entry training sh will return home and only work for Uncle Sam 39 days a year (1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer)

The other 326 days of the year she can see you all she wants
