Why did my question mysteriously delete?

SO I just asked a question, and it was just for fun, like what's the weather like where you are right now. You know, just for fun and stuff.

I asked it like 3-4 minutes ago and I was just checking my questions list to see if anyone had answered, but the heading was grey and it had deleted next to it. I can't open it either.

I didn't delete it, it just somehow deleted itself. Or someone else deleted it i don't know.

Please tell me what went wrong, was I like going against a privacy rule? Is it a rule that you are not allowed to ask what the weather is like?

help.

Thanks

Its because some people are just mean and so that's why its deleted. I know this because I see a LOT of chatting on YA and no one bothers to delete those questions. There used to be certain days when a lot of "How do I look?" or "Am I pretty?" questions were reported and deleted within seconds. Mostly that never happens. There are trolls on YA that ask the same questions a million times, the one you will always see in the horoscopes section is "Which zodiac sign has the most pretty females?" That question is up every single day and it never gets deleted.

It's not a privacy violation, but it is definitely a violation. Many things that would be perfectly fine on a social site or in a chat room are definitely not ok here, as this is an information exchange site. Its aim is different, so its rules are different. It's really not very wise to agree to something and then not find out what that something really is.

Because this is an information exchange site -- not a chat room or social contact site or discussion forum -- the questions here must be seeking knowledge or advice of general interest to the community. Answers must attempt to answer the question.

When you signed up to use this site, you agreed to follow the Community Guidelines here. Please read them. They are short and only take a real minute to read through. Then you'll see exactly what kind of site this is and isn't. The Guidelines are found under the About link near the bottom of the categories list on the left-hand side of the page.

Once you've read them, there is even a short quiz you can take that can get you 20 extra points.

It also lets you know if you have understood the Guidelines as well as you think you have. Violations cost 10 points each. Be sure you know how to avoid them.

It's not mysterious at all. On Yahoo!Answers, users who see posts that are in violation of the community guidelines report them, and they are subsequently deleted.

Your question was reported and deleted, and you should have an email in your inbox informing you of the deletion.

There is no specific rule about not being the ask what the weather is like, because "What is the weather like in San Francisco in July?" is a perfectly valid question.

Your question would violate the CHATTING rule.

    "Chatting" in Yahoo Answers

Questions on Y!A are meant to seek useful knowledge and/or advice. Yours does not qualify. They should NOT be posted just for fun. How is that "fun" anyways though??? Make sure you read and understand the rules before you proceed any further or you risk getting more questions deleted.

Innocuous but still a chat violation. Questions must be of interest to the community, avoid those solely of personal interest, they must be advice-seeking and knowledge-worthy. Asking for opinions or "what do you think" unless knowledge-seeking are pretty much always violations. as are always "rate" me type questions.

It was chat - just like the last time you asked why your chat was deleted.
