Hi, Even if your fish are currently 1 inch across they will not stay that way. The basic guideline is 1 inch of FULL GROWN fish per 1 US gallon of water. Guppies can reach 2-3 inches alone and if you have 2 pregnant females you are already adding another 5-15 right there. While your tank may not look overstocked it is not always about physical space.
The 1:1 guideline is more about your filtration than it is about your space. The amonia your fish produce is toxic and if your tank becomes overstocked there is not enough filtration to remove it even with weekly water changes.
In other words I don't advise you to get any more fish. I do however advise you to look into the Nitrogen cycle here which explain all the basics on how your tank works and what happens if it isn't working properlly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOnDyDPDhy0#t=355
