If I were you, the laptop wouldn't be the best for gaming, rather a desktop pc instead. However if the computer you currently have is a desktop, why don't you give it the life of a beastly machine? All it needs is a bronze, silver or gold rated power supply of 600 watts or greater, a faster processor (assuming yours is an i3, i5, i7 or AMD) a good NVIDIA or AMD/ATI graphics card, more RAM.

Save on the time and trouble with buying a new machine, you've got a beast just waiting to be unleashed.

Hi Tanner, I am not sure wat kind of gaming are u refering to. if u are someone who like run in very high graphic for games like crysis 3, battlefield 4, latest cod series, watchdog etc. I will suggest to upgrade ur laptop graphic card to at least be gtx780m.ur cpu is good  for high processing but when it come to graphic hungry computer games u will need a good graphic card to run :). I will suggest u to take a look at this web for the benchmark of each graphic card model so it meet ur demand and price. :)
