It's more of a case what the market in a given country will bear in respect to what the competition is offering in terms of warranty coverage.
Also I don't know why Bearface keeps insisting that Kia is owned by Ford. Kia is their own publicly traded company wtih *Hyundai* owning about 33% of the company. Ford has *NOTHING* to do with Kia or Hyundai. The don't share engines, they don't share platforms, they aren't even affiliated with each other in any way.

Hi so as KIA is owned by FORD of america.
they have to consider some issues like what sort of environment it is kept in.
how well do people maintain cars here in the united kingdom.
most are coming to realise you need to let the dealer do the work as he knows his product.
in stead of letting some back street or do it yourself mechanics loose on the car.
so they can afford to extend the warranty a bit further.
