Why are profanity getting so prevalent in movie/TV shows?
It seems to me that producers want to be more edgy. The public then emulate these shows. This new reality is then taken up by movies and the cycle repeats.
I know I do not have to watch these things, but it's getting harder to find decent 'clean' shows. Even Star Trek now now use this ploy for heaven sake.
Also, I do not need to use profanity to look cool when speaking to a loved one/friend.To paraphrase:The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good People Do Nothing. How many of you consider yourselves good.

A baddie kidnapped women.
He then shrunk them to about 1foot/30cm in hight and then encased them in 'plastic?'.
It gave me nightmares for years.
1 AnswerMovies7 years agoWhy are KIA fuel consumption different accross countries?
I bought a new 2013 Kia Soul 2.0 Automatic (South Africa).
One of the reasons for buying it was the fuel consumption that is as listed as 7.1 l@100km (combined cycle). I find it closer to 9.0 l@100km.
Needless to say I am a bit disappointed (even considering different driving conditions/styles).
I also found that in USA people were so disappointed that KIA actually admitted to mistaking their estimates to the extent of correcting it. In fact KIA is even reimbursing customers for the difference in previous and current claimed MPG.
See: kiampginfo.com/overview/compensation
The revised USA fuel consumption for my car is now 9.0 l@100km.
To me it looks like KIA are either creating cars with bad consumption (for USA) or they are cheating South Africans.

2 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoWhy China goes easy on North Korea?
I think it is because if NK blows up South Korea, we won't be getting anymore Hyundai and Kia cars. Then China can fill the gap with their cheap stuff.

2 AnswersGoogle9 years agoWas Elon Musk scared?
He claims to have left South Africa because of conscientious objection to serving in that country's army suppressing the locals.
Many boys thought the same but didn't have the same easy escape to another country like him.
His mother's Canadian citizenship made it easy for him to slip into that country without hassle.
1 AnswerOther - Cultures & Groups9 years agoWhy are people upset about 'The Spear' painting?
It is part of the 'Hail to the Thief II' exhibition. Nobody seems upset about that.
I suppose it has become the norm in South Africa to accept thievery in the form of kick-backs, bribery and other shenanigans. Hence the silence.
Go figure.
Call me a thief but don't show me naked.
Ayanda Mabulu's painting 'Ngcono ihlwempu kunesibhanxo sesityebi' (Zulu translation: Better poor than a rich puppet) also depicting Zuma hanging elicited nary a whimper.

I know that service delivery is the issue, but to stop an ambulance means to potentially hurt your own.
In this case someone did die.

1 AnswerGovernment9 years agoDo you sometimes feel that your thoughts are being stolen from you?
Sometimes I get an idea and while I am thinking about it, it just fades away.
After that I can remember that I had an idea, that I lost the idea, but cannot remember the idea.
It is like someone vacuums the thoughts away.
