What is Dave's law :) ?

Dave's law is the observation that manufacturers of goods only change packaging so that they can charge more for less in quantity or quality whilst claiming improved product.

Stephen Gould once did an analysis of the cost vs weight of Hershey bars, from an evolutionary perspective.

He noted there were three "species" in the series.

A gradual increase in price was followed by a jump downward in price, the downward jump was accompanied by a decrease in weight. In all cases, but one, the jump increased the cost per gram of chocolate.

The manufacturer claims "new and improved" on the packaging. Is there a question?

Lol, you ask a question then answer it. What is the point?
