    -BQ: 7 years

-BQ2: My style is influenced from Romantic, Neo-Victorian, Corporate, and Casual. I usually mix them together.

    -BQ3: No I don't have a Goth name.

-BQ4: Lots of different styles (mainly in the vein of rock and classical)

•Alternative Rock (Garbage, Die So Fluid, Smashing Pumpkins)

•Grunge (Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Hole)

•Goth Rock (Eva O, Miranda Sex Garden, Nosferatu)

•Darkwave (Diva Destruction, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Aural Vampire)

    •Industrial (KidneyThieves, NIN, Rammstein)

•Dark Cabaret (Jill Tracy, Emilie Autumn)

    •Symphonic Metal (Therion, Nightwish, Tristania)

    •Neoclassical (Nox Arcana)

    •Visual Kei (Malice Mizer)

•Hard Rock (Deftones, Chevelle, Tool, Evanescence)

•New Wave (Missing Persons, The Cars, Eurythmics)

•Punk Pop (Blink-182, The Distillers, The Offspring)

-BQ5: Shirley Manson, Eva O, Emilie Autumn, Klayton Scott, & Tarja Turunen

-BQ6: I'm not sure as I love learning about all religions.

-BQ7: When I was in high school, a lot of kids treated those styles as some fad. I didn't think much of it as I think of the styles as middle school - High school trends. I will admit that I thought some scene guys were cute and the hair was kind of cool since it reminded me of a throwback 80's hair metal kind of style.

-BQ8: Honestly, I wish there were more in my area. I have hardly seen any others in the open where I live. But I have to say that the Goth scene in my eyes is 50/50. You have people who know the origins and like the music and the other half are people who are just in it for the fashion and don't have any knowledge of the history. I'm pretty indifferent really.

-BQ9: With the way people are treating Pastel and Nu Goth, it seems like it's going to be turned into some mediocre gimmick with the people who have no idea of the history of the style. But with that said, I know the traditional style will never die as long as there are people who are actually interested in the culture.

-BQ10: I find them pretty entertaining. Before the "Dawn of the posers" episode, it was pretty funny how the creators had some knowledge with the subculture (evidence with some of the band references they used and the music they played in the Burn down Hot Topic episode). I plan on doing some fan art of them someday. :)

BQ11: Don't be discouraged if someone who has been in the subculture longer then you puts you down. Pay them no attention. If you really are interested in the subculture, then continue learning and exploring and importantly, having fun. :)

  • 1. (5 years)

    2. (Just dark clothing,)

    3. (Arachne) I love spiders and have a pet tarantula . Or (Sinful)my mother gave me this name

    4. Gothic Rock- Evanescence, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil

Scremo- suicide silence, bring me to the horizon

Metal-avenged 7 fold, kill switch engage, slip knot,

    5. Within temptation, Lacuna Coil

    6. Gothic Christianity, Catholic,Necromancy

    7. Scene style of kids with punk and rock.

Emos, their complaint about life bothers me, they cut for attention, they act like saying they are suicidal is something they can just throw around it's just a phase. Like Twilight

    8. People have confused goth with emo and now some posers have made their way in.

    9. Some will still practice it, others will leave it, I believe it will eventually be seen as emo as every other dark style has.

    10. Hilarious, funny, nothing to get crazy about. They had a lot of knowledge of gothic culture.

    11. It's an animal they way others are. I personally think they are interesting

    1. How long were you/have you been a Goth for?

I realized when I was 11 years old, but didn't act on it until I was 13 (after realizing my emo phase was my babybat phase).

    2. What style(s) did you/do you wear?

Traditional goth, victorian goth mainly but lately I've been wearing the stereotypical "emo" fashion (as much has I hate to admit it) because it's way too cold to wear what I usually wear, plus it's quick and I'm usually late to college, anyway, haha.

    3. Did you/do you have a Goth name (please share if yes)?

    YourGothicNightmare

    or

ezophaGOTHomia after a slam death metal band (I only class it as a goth name because of the picture it reminds me of. I can't find it, though).

    4. What types of music do you listen to? Please include 1 band/artist from each genre.

    Everything. Honestly.

Gothic rock/deathrock - Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Frank the Baptist, Sisters of Mercy, All Gone Dead.

Dark ambient - Cities Last Broadcast, Life Toward Twilight, Lustmord, Atrium Carceri

Pop/rap/hip hop - Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, MIKA, Lady Gaga, P!NK, Miley Cyrus.

Various types of rock/metal (including gothic metal and some metalcore) - Avenged Sevenfold, Moonspell, Black Veil Brides, Yyrkoon, Ezophagothomia, Heretic Soul, Devildriver, Asking Alexandria, Heaven's Basement.

    Darkwave - The Cruxshadows

Emotive hardcore/screamo - Circle Takes The Square, Embrace, Sunny Day Real Estate, Gray Matter, Indian Summer

Alternative rock/other - The Smiths, Blood on the Dancefloor, Falling in Reverse, MUSE, Placebo, Secondhand Serenade.

    5. Who are some of your all-time favourite artists?

Sunny Day Real Estate, Devildriver, Black Veil Brides, Blood on the Dance floor, The Smiths, Frank The Baptist, (soon to be) Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, All Gone Dead, The Cruxshadows, Jesus On Extasy, MUSE, Placebo, Deathstars.

    6. What religion(s) or lack thereof do you practice? (Optional)

    LaVeyan Satanism.

    7. What do you think about emo and scene kids?

I generally dislike what emo has turned in to today. I dislike how most of these teens who call themselves "emo" do not know the background or history of original emo and only believe what they've been told instead of researching it for themselves.

Scene kids I find are less annoying but I still don't like their fashion and MOST of their music (dislike deathcore, nearly as a whole. I like around one deathcore song).

    8. What do you think about Goth people today?

I think a lot of them know what they're doing, but there are still a few mainstream goths out there who will disappear over the years. I think it's been the same as it always has, new people discover they're Goth and then research the subculture.

    9. Where do you think the subculture is headed?

I think it's still going to be strong. I don't think the human race will ever run out of dark minded individuals.

    10. If you watch "South Park," what do you think of the Goth kids?

    I don't watch South Park.

    11. Any advice for BabyBats?

Research is the key. Make sure you know what you're doing before you go around throwing your pink leg warmers out because they're "not goth". If you're passionate about researching and learning about the subculture then don't hesitate to carry on. Most of all, be yourself because it's all you can be. Don't try and fit the goth label, let it fit you.

I know no one will see this, but it was great fun to answer these questions anyway.
