Anyone know about how to read the date code on a Remington fieldmaster 572?
The code is CPX. I know the C means it was made in April. The P & X have me confused though. It could have be made in 1923 or 1967. I think '67.

I can tell you it's not made in 1923 since the 572 was first made in 1955. I have seen a Remington serial number and code look up but I can't remember where I saw it.

When I sold all my Remington 700's - I can remember having no troubles at all visiting the Renington web site and finding the table that tells you all this. I know it was in the customer support area - that is all I remember. It's there! Somewhere!!
