Good Economy and Bad Government?
Hello everyone. I was wondering if there were some examples of states from any time period that simultaneously had a good economy, but a poorly ran government or vice-versa. It seems like politics in reality is all about money, so I'm starting to think that politics should be a sub category for Economics.

During periods of prosperity, many politicians become over generous in their commitments for the future which is why several very large cities in the US are filing bankruptcy. They have unfunded liabilities for pensions and health insurance in most cases. This is also true for Illinois, and a few other states who are suffering from bad decisions.
