HDMI audio problems from laptop to TV?

I plugged my laptop to the TV with an HDMI cable. The picture is fine, but I can't hear sound from the TV. I usually go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sounds > Manage Audio Devices (under Sounds) but in the window that opens there's just Realtek High Definition Audio which is the audio device from my laptop...and the TV audio is not in there.

How can I reset it? Is it possible that I may have deleted it by mistake?

Thanks :)

By default, H.D.M.I should be able to carry both audio and video. I would suggest hovering your cursor over the speaker icon located on the bottom-right, then right-clicking it to select playback devices, then a window should come up with the available playback devices under the playback devices tab. Have a look for one that has H.D.M.I stated on it and check to make sure it is not disabled.

You may also need to check with the propertier software that came with realtek to ensure it is configured correctly for Audio to come through HDMI.

From what I know about LCD monitors and HDMI cables is that you most likely have to use another sep cable for audio
