Can I ask if you have recently downloaded any GPS software such as tomtom home, navman or garmin? Anything like that at all?

If you have, then it is an icon telling you the gps is activated.

This is something that happens mostly with Iphones and apple computers. They way you fix it on there is by opening the gps software and the location settings and disabling everything.

If not, download microsoft security essentials, making sure not to remove any existing internet security and then do a scan. Run any updates on the computer and microsoft security essential before starting the scan. It could be a virus. There are 6000 viruses released every month onto the internet. That's one every 13 minutes. It wouldn't surprise me if there was one that just came up with an annoying triangle.

If none of this works, restoring your computer may be the only other way to get rid but is a bit extreme.
