I have a 2001 passat and the transmission sounds like its slippping.?
What might be going on if when driving in the 5 to 15 mph range every 5 to 10 seconds there is a thud and you can both feel it and here it. It seems like its coming from the transmission or where the drive shaft meets the transmission. It sounds like either the gears are slipping when the transmission goes in between 1st and 2nd gear maybe. Any help would be great, thanks.

find local shop at ATRA.COM and have them look at it. could be as simple as low fluid which means a leak that can be fixed or worse a internal transmission problem which means rebuilt. but the shop will let you know and give you a estimate to repair
