  • 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0 Vulcan Bending Pushrod on Cylinder 5 Exhaust Valve?

So I have a 1999 ford ranger with the 3.0 l Vulcan engine. It has 269,000 miles on it. It hasn't done this before as far as I know (haven't owned it for very long, and no it hasn't happened before this is an original ford Pushrod). Anyways the Pushrod bent when I went up a large hill. I took the valve cover off an replaced the bent rod. Drove it about 20 miles not real problems was running much better may have misfired a time or two. But I had never cleaned the plugs from before when they were fouled. Anyways drove 20 miles and started up a big hill again and bang bent the same rod again. Took it apart again and not only had it bent the same rod but it bent the same exact way. What the hell is going on. Is it timing related, is the valve seizing in the guide is the cam lobe got a problem or is there something wrong with the lifter. Hopefully someone out there has had this happen before. I am mechanically knowledgable so don't worry about using acronyms or complicated automotive things. I'll know what your talking about. Additional info. Rocker is fine, valve moves up and down smoothly when pushed, and the lifter appears to be fine, but I haven't not pulled he lifter out and actually inspected it. This isn't happing on any other valve. All the cylinders have good compression however at the time cylinder 5 only had 120. But I figured the walls had been washed down by fuel. Help please If you can. Thanks.

  • Ford power steering, what's wrong?

2003 ford escape 3 liter v6 power steering wines not too bad can't hear if music is on. Only makes noise when it's been sitting over night and for about 10 minutes after startup. No apparent leaks and reservoir is full. What might be wrong.

  • What fuel pump do I need, 76 ford 410?

I have a 1976 ford f150 and it has a 390 and I've upgraded to 410 valve train and what not. So I've got a 410 on my hands. Edelbrock performer 390 intake. Rated for 600 to 800 cfm. It's got a 600 on it. I haven't taken the pump out yet, but I will. It appears to be a factory pump. The engine hasn't been run much the last 11 years. But before it sat the engine was rebuilt. I drove it the other day and it seemed sluggish. That could be the 6 month old gas, or the carb from sitting. But I'm looking to put a 800 cfm on there and I want to make sure it has enough fuel. What would be a good pump for me to run?

16 year old tires, 30,000 miles out of 40,000, good to use or no?

I have some cooper discoverer radial stt tires from 98 on my 76 f150. The truck has been sitting for 11 years and is driven a few times a year. 10,000 miles have been put on them in the last 13 years and the other 20,000 or so miles were in the first 3 years before I had the truck. The tires are in good shape, no cracking in the sidewall or tread. It appears as though 75% of the tread has been used. I'm starting to use the truck again, but can't buy tires just yet. Haven't ever had any other problems with them going flat or anything like that. Can I use these tires for a month or so while I save money. The truck is only driven on the weekend and I'm not hauling anything.

  • Trying to find out the history of my 70's vehicle?

I have a 1976 ford f150 and I recently have become extremely interested in its history after watching a certain show. Is there anyone that I can contact about this. Exact date it was made, what options it had when it left the factory. And so on. I already tried calling ford and they could only tell me that they had made 50,514 of my specific truck. Any suggestions?

  • I am trying to start a landscaping business, but don't know where to start.?

I am 17 soon to be 18, I would be doing this with several other people. I have acquired two trucks already 76 f150 and a 76 f250, my personal vehicles. I need to know what to do, if I actually need to acquire a license of any kind, what I can do with the yard waste, etc. I live in Seattle Washington, I don't know what the laws are. Thank you.

  • Do I get a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid or a 2003 Nissan Xterra?

I am choosing between these two cars. The Escape has 178k miles and the Xterra has 107k miles. They both appear to be in good shape, but I know that there are many problems with the Xterra. I'm also worried about electrical components on the Escape. Please answer if you have info that will help me decide one way or the other.

  • What engine rebuild kit should I choose?

I have a 1976 ford f250 with a C6 transmission and I want to take out the 460 that's in it because it has problems. I have a 360 just back from being redone and now I need a great rebuild kit so that I can have performance, quality, and something that will last. How much horsepower can I get out of a 360 that has been bored to 390. If possible I'd like to get 500 or so, I'll take less but if more is possible I'll take that too. I've looked on summit racing and I'm not sure if a kit would be better or if different parts mixed and matched will be better, any information will help, thanks.

  • I have a 2001 passat and the transmission sounds like its slippping.?

What might be going on if when driving in the 5 to 15 mph range every 5 to 10 seconds there is a thud and you can both feel it and here it. It seems like its coming from the transmission or where the drive shaft meets the transmission. It sounds like either the gears are slipping when the transmission goes in between 1st and 2nd gear maybe. Any help would be great, thanks.
