Walk from victoria line to gatwick express?

I am planning to travel to Gatwick Airport in a few weeks and was hoping someone could tell me about the walk from a Victoria underground train (coming into Victoria station from Kings Cross) to a Gatwick Express train. Are there stairs, escalators? How long is it? I will have lots of luggage which is why I am asking.

Thank you.

To avoid a tiring walk across the concourse of Victoria, head west from Kings Cross to the southbound Thameslink platform beneath St.Pancras Station (using a trolley and the lift). There catch a First Capital Connect train straight to Gatwick. The lifts at Gatwick are towards the southern ends of the platforms. The journey would be slightly slower but less expensive.

Avoid Victoria. From Kings Cross follow the signs to St Pancras International (opposite Kings Cross) First Capital Connect platforms and take one of their trains direct to Gatwick Airport. They run every 15 minutes (every 30 minutes on Sundays)

It's not a long walk. There are escalators from the Victoria Line platforms and there are stairs from the tube station's ticket hall to the railway station.

There are stairs at the moment. The improvements won't be ready for another couple of years. The journey planner suggests Victoria line to Green park and then a 38 bus if you don't feel you could cope with the stairs.

There are stairs and escalators, and with the Gatwick Express running from Victoria, there must be a lift up from the Tube.
