  • How can I raise awareness of my YouTube channel?

    Hi All,

I recently started making YouTube videos which I think people will find interesting and are not too different to other fairly successful videos which present data in a similar format.

I try to present information that hasn't already been shown. What have you found to be the quickest way to get people to notice what you are doing and build an audience?

    Here is my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOZ0DOFddLmpaHC0h...

I also created one which teaches little ones how to start playing things on a piano here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClJ65z2d4hC7S2DCp...

    Thank you!

  • Looking for a moving. Early 90s, Low Budget Romancing the Stone?

Hi All, wondering if you can help me track down a move. I watched it on TV around 20 years ago so please excuse the vague description. Here's what I remember.

Female character. May have even been the lead. Similar to romancing the stone. An adventure set somewhere like India. I may be wrong but she may have been riding an elephant at one point. A key clue is that I seem to remember it presenting the story like pages of a comic book. It may have even stopped to show a comic book page to summarise what just happened but only briefly for effect.

I don't remember who starred in it but do remember it was no one I recognised at the time so was likely a b movie.

It sort of reminded me of temple of doom/romancing the stone. It was colourful and definitely had scenes where she was being chased in cars in a jungle or something like this.

    Thanks!

  • What is wrong with the fluorescent tube light in my loft?

I've had for around 10 years. Worked fine for most of that. Then in the last couple of years, I've noticed it sometimes requires I flick the switch on and off a few times before it comes on. There were a couple of occasions where it refused to come on so I'd give up and try again another day. Eventually, it just wouldn't come on at all. I changed the tube, I changed the starter and it's still no good. I noticed a few days ago that it came on after I'd accidentally left the switch on for a good while (maybe a day). When I turned it off and on again, it didn't work. This happened again so I left it on as I needed to do a few things in my loft. About 30 mins in, it turned off by itself.

Can I do anything to save it or do I need a new fitting?

    Thanks!

  • Henry Vacuum Cleaner Fault?

Hi there, my wife dropped Henry down the stairs. It's still working but we noticed the high-low rocker no longer does anything. It it's always lit and the power seems to be very high all the time. Perhaps even higher than high used to be.

We carried on using it like this for a good few months then suddenly, noticed it was making sparking sounds though couldn't see any sparks. This was while it was off but still plugged in with the switch on.

We opened it up but couldn't see anything wrong.

It later caused my fuse to drop when we tried to use it again.

For the experts out there, will replacing the high-low rocker resolve this or is it likely to be a more serious fault?

    Thanks!

  • Where in London was I? Help locating a restaurant...?

    Hi all,

I was out and about with colleagues a few years ago and was pretty drunk. We decided to go for a meal and ended up at this very nice/fairly expensive Indian restaurant. I'd like to take the Mrs there one day but can't remember where it is. Can you help me find it?

    Here's what I remember:

    -It's in central London

    -There's a courtyard.

-To the left, a set of outdoor wooden steps that take you up a floor (onto a platform that wraps around the courtyard)

-The Indian restaurant entrance is on the left as soon as you walk up the steps.

-Fairly large place with big round tables when you first enter.

-The courtyard has a place to drink within it as it was a warm night and there were loads of people outdoors drink. Standing on the steps also.

    Thanks!

  • Can you please help me with a PC/Windows 10 error: 0xc000000e?

    Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone can help with some advice on the following issue.

My computer throws up the blue screen 'You PC/Device needs to be repaired' and states: A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed'.

This has been happening for quite some time. All I have to do is turn off my machine, turn it back on and it's all ok.

This is quite an annoying issue as it happens say 1 out of every 3 or 4 times I turn on my machine.

I know the error is basically telling me it can't access my SSD which has my OS on it, but why intermittently and why is it resolved everytime with a simple restart?

How can I make this problem go away? Anyone else experienced this?

Many thanks in advance + happy new year all :)

  • Can you please help me find the name of this old dos/windows game from the late 80s/early 90s?

I've haven't seen it for over 20 years. Here's what I remember: Black screen. White grid. Flat. Take turns placing balls into the boxes in the grid. It's a strategy/board game. Winner is one who dominates the board. I remember that when you place the dot, it would take over the opponents pieces around it based on how they were laid out making them your own. Winner is the person who has dominated enough of the board. It was very basic. Each game would only take a minute or two. I used to play it in school on a windows 3.1 or windows 95 machine. It looked like a dos game but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance!

  • Can you please give us your honest opinion on the following names for our baby boy?

My wife and I are expecting a baby boy later this year. We were both born and raised in London but have Turkish parents. We are thinking of giving our boy a Turkish name, but only if it sounds good and is easily pronounced in by non-Turkish speakers here in England. So here's what we have so far in no particular order:

    Metin

    Levent

    Evren

    Mete

    Emre

    Arden

    Enver

    Emil

    Erdem

    Thanks in advance!

  • Are there any good built-in (integrated) washer dryers?

I am tired of hanging my wet laundry indoors and don't have space for a tumble dryer so seriously considering swapping out my 3/4 year old washing machine (which has served me well to date) with a new washer dryer.

After doing some research, I can see they have got very very bad reputations so have to ask

    1) Are there any reliable ones out there (I'm in London), if so, which one(s)?

    2) I know you need to run the dryer with a smaller load, but do they actually come out completely dry?

  • Why is my hard drive showing as invalid when in an enclosure?

    Hi,

    I have 2x 2TB 3.5" hard drives.

A is about 90% full, B is about 99.5% full.

I purchased 2 hard drive enclosures (both exactly the same) and installed my drives into them.

Drive A shows up via USB

Drive B doesn't. Disk Management shows it as invalid and my only option is to convert it to a basic drive which will wipe the contents (I am not prepared to do this).

I plugged drive B directly into my PC and it shows up fine.

I swapped the drives around enclosures to make sure the fault doesn't lie with the enclosure and the same results occur.

Any idea why this could be happening?

The only difference in the drives is how full they are, but this can't be the issue, can it?

Thanks in advance you smart smart people.

  • Walk from victoria line to gatwick express?

I am planning to travel to Gatwick Airport in a few weeks and was hoping someone could tell me about the walk from a Victoria underground train (coming into Victoria station from Kings Cross) to a Gatwick Express train. Are there stairs, escalators? How long is it? I will have lots of luggage which is why I am asking.

    Thank you.

  • Can you help me find one of my favourite childrens books please?

I would like to buy this book for my children but can't remember what it was called.

    Here's what I remember:

The book looked as though it may be part of a series. This is because the first picture you see when you open turn the cover is a map of a lovely small town describing where all the characters (all animals) live.

It was a hard back book, rather large (Slightly bigger than A4). It was full of colourful pictures on every page.

This particular story was about hare or rabbit who works at a manor, in fact, the word 'manor' may have been in the title of the book. He trims hedges into lovely shapes (topiary). There may have been a picture of him trimming a hedge into a cockerel on the cover of this book.

Anyway, his mischievous nephews are left with him to look after and they cause all sorts of trouble while he tries to get on with his day.

The only other thing I remember is an owl doctor who is called upon for a reason I can't remember.

Oh and there may have been a fire at some point.

    Please help.

    Thanks

  • Will Barclaycard charge me interest?

    Hi All,

Please help me with the following question if you have a barclaycard or understand the way credit cards work.

I hardly ever use my VISA Barclaycard, infact, I probably have a £5 balance on the account. I don't know much about how credit cards work. I know I am allowed to go over £2000 (credit limit). A couple of days ago, I had to purchase something urgantly for around £280. So I must be around £275 in debt to them. I can pay this no problem, just don't have time to go to the bank for a while. Could someone please tell me if they will charge me interest, if so, roughly how much per day? If not, do I just get a bill for this exact amount at the end of the month which I can just pay online?

I don't want to wait ages only to find they have charged me loads on interest.

Thanks in advance. I feel silly asking this.

  • I need portable power, can you help?

    Hi There,

Can someone please tell me of any portable power solutions out there?

I need to buy a device which I can charge, which will then retain this power for later use.

I would quite like to plug a portable heater up to it and get it to run for 15minutes.

I need it to be compatible with UK plugs: http://asiawatcher.net/whyuksucks/media/uk-plug.jp...

  • Advice on Pericoronitis - Metronidazole didn't work, will Amoxicillin?

    Hi guys,

I have a severe case of pericoronitis. Started on Saturday. My dentist gave me Metronidazole (a 3 day 400mg 3x a day course). This is the third time I've had pericoronitis in 2 years and this cleared up the two cases I had previously (I will be having an extraction once it's all calmed down).

Unfortunately, this time around, they've had no effect on me. My doctor has now prescribed me a five day course of Amoxicillin (250g 3x a day for 5 days). I'm on day 2 now (have had 4 tablets), still no joy. What is the likelyhood that I will get better?

I'm really worried. I don't sleep, can barely eat. please help with advice. My dentist seems a bit rubbish and all she does is give me drugs and ushers me away. What if it's still here next week? Already missed a week of work because of this!!!

    Thanks.
