How do I convert from Tight End to a Wide Receiver?
I am in 7th grade I play mainly tight end and some wide receiver. I weigh 148 and run a 5.4 40 and I am 6'0 1/2" I have really good hands and precise routes. But my blocking is not good Defensive Ends destroy me but I can block corners easily. Could I convert to a full time wide receiver and how?
@gulp I didn't mean it like I was going to change my position. I meant how do I get better at WR so the coach would want to convert me 1. 2 my blocking isn't that bad but it is not very good either. 3 I am very serious about my speed what would I gain from lying that would get me a fake result and I want a real answer 5.4 is what I run consistently I have had slightly better slightly worse. And if I were lying I would put in a good speed 5.4 is slow.

Personally, I believe that you can benefit from making a position change. Based on your height and weight, as well as your really good hands and 40-yard dash time, I believe that you will make a very good fit at the wide receiver position. In fact, your height gives you the potential to become a very elite wide receiver in football.
My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this upcoming (and every) offseason is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch wide receiver in football.
