Why exactly does a perfect being seek praise and worship? If God has always existed has he earned it?

If God has always existed as a perfect being, on what grounds can he take credit for his perfection?

Should tall people take pride in their tallness?

"He" is a bit insecure, and prone to tantrums to call him perfect don't you think?

And he is really needy to be worshiped. The doctors probably have a name for that too.

Actually, I believe it is a misunderstanding that God needs our prayers, our praise or our worship. I do not believe that anything we do (including prayer or worship) has any effect whatsoever on God. However, I do believe that it has a great effect on the person doing the worshiping and the praying. That is based on both personal experience and talking to other people, and not just other Baha'is, people of many different religious groups. I happen to believe that one can become stronger spiritually even if one is an Atheist. I think you'll be very interesting to run a study where one group of Atheists prayed on a regular basis while a control group did not. From Baha'i Scripture:

This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future. Let him that seeketh, attain it; and as to him that hath refused to seek it -- verily, God is Self-Sufficient, above any need of His creatures.

Judaism tells us reality is God's kingdom and God is a mystery.

The religious world teaches good versus evil - the fall of mankind.

God is not a giant invisible guy that fights mythological beings of the underworld.

We don't know what God is, but reality runs by rules and everything has order and we have to learn to trust how things really work and have a relationship with reality or we're not sane.

Reality can take your breath away, its amazing. That's the way you honor God, by enjoying the beautiful paradise that is our planet, or marveling at the universe, not by kissing up to a mental midget in a toga.

You must not have children! If you did, you'll know you require respect, and everything that comes with it. Would you want him to come home everyday and brag to you that his friends father is the best father in the world, wouldn't you feel slighted, or jealous? You deserve the love and respect from your own child.

I wonder, What would be your underlying point? I can't speak for God, and neither can you. But I do know what the bible says. He deserves our worship, honor and praise. Oh you have not read how great he is, the wonderful things he is doing to rescue us out of this sick world. If you knew you will not need to ask. Who are you to question God this way.

Read about the atrocities committed by a deranged god in the hot desert sun. Read a bible.

Yes, he earned it, the same as Jesus did, the same as we do. His very source of eternal glory is creating worlds, populating them with his children, having them become like him.

    Isaiah 43:7

7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

    Moses 1:39

39 For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

    Isaiah 46:13

13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

Jesus was born, resisted temptation, did God's will, died and was resurrected, and he did only what the Father did....

    John 5:19

19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

    John 10:34

34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

    Psalms 82:6

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

I don't know. I don't like to brag, but as a perfect human being, I don't desire worship.
