BQ: awwww, hard choice, I'd go with John Carpenter he's done
movies a little bit longer, Halloween came out before Nightmare on Elm Street.
And I'm not a big fan of Freddy Krueger like I am of Michael Myers.
But I do love the Scream franchise.
Favorite Slasher Movies--
Halloween franchise, no remakes
Friday the 13th franchise, no remakes
Psycho
Scream 1-4
Child's Play
When a Stranger Calls, not the remake
Funny Games (2007)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not sequels or remakes
Shaun of the Dead
Zombieland
Leprechaun franchise
Jeepers Creepers 1&2
all I can think of, fun question, happy watchings xoxo

I'm a fan of old slashers, i.e., Sleepaway Camp, The Burning, the F13 series, Night School, Cheerleader Camp, Visiting Hours, Aerobicide.
BQ: John Carpenter. Much more impressive catalog of films. My favorite of his is Assault, followed by Prince of Darkness, The Fog, Halloween and They Live.
