    Since the x in the second equation is isolated, it'd be easiest to solve for that:

    x=4y-2

    Plug this in for x in the first equation:

    3(4y-2)+4y=10

    12y-6+4y=10

    16y=16

    y=1

    Plug this value into either equation to solve for x:

    x-4(1)=-2

    x=2

    Therefore:

    x=2

    y=1
