My Gateway laptop got wet. When I press the power button, the computer beeps constantly and lights flash.?
The power button and wifi lights blink blue. A symbol I can't identify blinks pink and blue. On the bottom front (under the space bar) are a blue light and a pink light next to each other that stay on the whole time.
Is my motherboard fried or my battery dead? How much will it cost to fix this? Are my files safe? I have stuff on there I need.

I would open it up if possible and let it dry out, then try again. You might be able to contact the manufacturer to see what the blinking lights mean. Sometimes they blink in a sequence that is a code for what the problem is. You could try taking it to Best Buy to see if the Geek Squad can recover your data. If the hard drive is damaged your data is probably lost. This is why you should always back your important files up on an external drive!
