What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?

I have a friend who puts on a big Thanksgiving dinner for her friends on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. She does this because all her friends have another Thanksgiving to go to on Thursday. She spends the whole day making everything, and everything is really good.

Actually I have two favorites. One is 'smoked turkey'. She does a turkey on the Weber barbecue. There's a special gizmo you can get for this with two banks of charcoal briquets on either side and a drip pan in the middle. I'm not sure how common this is, but it's the best turkey I ever had. (I've heard that in the South they deep-fry turkeys. Never had one like that but I'd like to try it sometime!)

The other is the cranberry sauce. She has a family recipe that has nuts and raisins and stuff in it, and it's just incredible.

and here in the deep south the mid-day meal on sundays and holidays is dinner and the last meal of any day is supper.thanks for sharing a bit of the south with everyone.. :)). the best part of the thanksgiving day food is the family i eat it with,,but i do love the cranberry sauce.

Pumpkin Pie

Homemade hot rolls, and cranberry relish

Stuffing or dressing with organ meats and cooked in the turkey.

Without a doubt Pumpkin Pie! You may have the whole turkey if want, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole and biscuits. But please just please let me have my slice of Pumpkin Pie. You may steal my plate just please don't steal my slice of Pumkin Pie. I'm not greedy I actually make People Pumpkin Pies. As long as I have one slice I am content. It's Thanksgiving and it's always better to give than to receive but I am very grateful once I get a slice of Pumkin Pie.
