Can someone steal my identity if......?

I lost an important document the other day. It had my full name and address on it. Is it possible for my identity to be stolen based on those two pieces of information alone?

It would depend on what type of sensitive information was contained in those documents you lost.

    Like,

    -Credit Card Numbers,

    -Bank Account Numbers,

    -Social Security Numbers,

    -Drivers Licence and

    -Birth Certificate.

Probably not. Is your identity worth stealing, anyway ? Do you have $5M in the bank ?

The banks etc. are much more aware of identity theft and fraud now, so it's not the impossible task it was some years back to convince them it's a mistake.

Somebody can use this information to start social accounts using your name and address.

yes, it is dangerous. They might try to target you and target others using your identity. Any bit of information that is extra is valuable to others.
