How should I quit my job?

So I'm a full time college student with a job a retail store. Ive been working there for a little under two years. About three months ago I started filling out job applications since I got bored of my current job, and they were cutting hours big time. I got hired at Disney world as a part time parking attendant at EPCOT about two months ago since the opportunity was there and I wanted to try something new. Now that I'm fully trained and working I have to say this job is not for me. I'm not to fond of my coworkers and the job can be a bit disorganized and overwhelming. I can't work two jobs with my school schedule so I have to drop one. Although I don't like my retail job it is a lot less stressful than Disney. I do however want to work for Disney as an intern or a professional worker later in life.

My question is how should I quit? DO I have to write a formal letter? Should I speak to my managers? Can I still be hired after quitting? Is a month of working too early to quit?

Thank you in advance.

First off, i think talking to your managers in person is better than a letter.

You also need to tell them in advance, so that they can remove you from the upcoming schedule.

It's never too early to quit a job that you don't like. You can tell them what you just told us in this ask. That you love disney and you'd love to work with them later in a more professional position, but that the job you have right now doesn't suit you.

You don't need to tell them negative points, it will leave a good image of yourself and if you were a good worker, they will most likely tell you they will be happy to welcome you back.

You can always work twice at the same place, of course if you were nice/good enough for them to want you back.

    Good Luck!

  • If you really don't like it there then quit. I've seen some people quit jobs with in weeks of being hired because they have no hours, or it wasn't what they thought it would be like. Depends on what your comfortable with. Either speak to your managers or give them a written letter. Check their policies with regards to this before you quit.

It´s quite simple. Just write a thank you note to your current employers and send them your two weeks notice. In case you don´t know how to do it, you can always a professional writing company. I´ve had a case similar to yours, they took care of all of my documents and i left the company in good terms. I can give you their contact if you want =)

Write a letter. That way no one can change the date of your leaving or say they didnt know.

Just put: I wish to advise you of my resignation. My last day of work will be....
