Comes from the Civil War and those who believed that there would be a comeback. John Wilkes Booth was one of those.

After the Civil War, the south was in dire straits financially. This was a cry out to the people that though they had been knocked down and hurt, they will get strong again.

Today, liberals try and portray that phrase as racist or something political. It basically means that people in the south are not going to just lay down and whine when something goes bad. They get back up and work hard to make things better.

South was defeated in the civil war so maybe the confederate state will rise again??

That's an example of trolling from the days before the internet. It's a statement meant to get a knee-jerk reaction out of people who are too slow to realize they're being baited.

    It's ignorant conservative dogma.
