Can someone please explain the uk benefit cuts of 2013 to me?
I need to write a paper on them but i am not sure i completely understand the reforms. I'd like to know who they affect? How they affect the people? What is the public reaction? And the most important question, what should the government have done other than impose these benefit or welfare cuts? What is the alternative to this problem?
I'd like to know why are people unhappy about them? Are people made worse off? If so what can be the solution to benefit cuts?

In a nutshell it encourages people to take more responsibility for themselves, without being such a drain on society.......
Edit.....the people unhappy are the workshy, who now have to work for a living...
In the long term they and the country as a whole will be better off.......
Benefits cuts are the solution....!

Simple - if you are poor, old, unemployed or disabled your living standard has to be cut by any means necessary even if it results in death. People with jobs must be made to blame the disadvantaged even though their own living standards are being decimated by this right wing fascist government. On the plus side, if you're a millionaire good old Dave has given you a tax cut. Good to know we're all in it together.

The solution to cuts would be to arrest the bankers, declare our debts null and void, then elect a responsible government to issue money themselves instead of borrowing it and use it to build up our manufacturing industry to create jobs and quality British products that the world will want to buy

Look at this link to the BBC. It's a simple explanation. The main thrust is that no family no matter how many children they choose to have will receive more than £26,000 a year, (the estimated average wage). This is in fact more as workers have to pay Tax and N.I.
