To whom much is given much is required.

I'm glad that the USA is sending my tax dollars to help those in need.

And I thank God every day that I don't go through my life being selfish and not compassionate.

  • Ahh, but you have to keep in mind that Republicans control the checkbook of the USA because they control the House. For example : Michelle Bachman who pushed for the foodstamp cuts in the Farm Bill but added changes to it that will give her farm over $140,000 more this year, she has said the US should give the Philippines money at the same time she is pushing to take food out of the mouths of Americans.

The Philippines just got hit with the biggest storm in recorded history and America isn't the only country sending help. There is a certain level of selflessness that is expected from developed nations when disasters of this magnitude occur.

It's good question, but it's not only u.s that does it. Many countries do it, they send millions of dollars to africa every year, meanwhile their own citizens are suffering. I have no idea why they do this, they must be braindead all around the world, can't find any other logical explanation. Own citizens should always come first, but unfortunately at the moment they don't, for some weird reason.
