I am always stressed - how can I stop this?
I always feel stressed out for no reason - even though I have no reason to be. I constantly feel stressed about college work (I started my AS levels a couple of months ago), but aside from that, I have no real reason to be stressed. I know people who have much worse problems than me, and are less stressed.
I have always been easily stressed out - in KS3 I got stressed about homework, in KS4 I got stressed about my GCSE exam & coursework, and now in KS5 I get stressed about my A-levels.
I often get chest pains where my heart is, and the occasional muscle spasm. My mother who works in a doctors' surgery asked about this and said that my symptoms are stress-related, and that I should stop being as stressed - but this feels impossible.
Does anyone know how to reduce stress levels (that do not involve medication)? Thanks.

Yoga is an excellent way to de-stress. It helps both body and mind. I did a kit if yoga when I was teaching because I was suffering badly from stress. It really helps to focus the mind away from worry. Also, just writing lists of what you have to do and if you tick things off, it helps to see that you have things under cintrol snd that you're making progress. Swimming helped me too. I really used to switch off when I was swimming. Physically activity is very good for calming the mind because its hard to concentrate in physical movement and pay attention to your worries at the same time. Concentrating in the movement places the emotional worry and stress to the back if the mind for a while and gives your mind a break from worrying. We are all different and you will probably be prone to stress and worry all of your life but as ling as you can control it and have methods to keep it under control, then you'll be fine. Never let stress control you. That's when you become ill.

Take up Vipassana meditation.
Every morning before you start your day, and every evening before going to bed.
Also take up jogging or aerobics .. 30 minutes 3-5 times a week. Releases endorphins.
If you have the time, take up some sort of volunteer activity where you are directly helping others.
Caring and sharing releases serotonin into our brain.
We create our own stress, and we can uncreate it.
And if we do it without medication, it works MUCH better.

Well, i don't know what is ks3,4, 5 but you need to take some "You" time . Try 1hr of yoga, meditation, plenty of sleep or exercise. Just 1hr for you and no one else.
