How do you use an Oregon Trail EBT Card? Must the qualifying items be purchased in a single transaction or 2?

A friend of mine is up in Oregon and she and her daughter qualify for the Oregon Trail EBT Food Stamp Card now that the husband abandoned the family and I'm wondering how all this works…

I looked at the Oregon Trail Aid Website and it says what a "Qualified Purchase" is vs an "Unqualified Purchase", such as you can buy Fresh Produce and Chicken but not Cat Food or Body Lotion, but they don't say how you would actually pay for it all at the checkout counter.

If you had a basket with the following in it, how would you pay for it all?

• Fresh Chicken

• Bag of Baby Carrots

• Bottle of Body Lotion

• Bag of Cat Food

Would you have to have 2 transactions:

✖ EBT Transaction:

• Fresh Chicken

• Bag of Baby Carrots

✖ Non-EBT Transaction:

• Bottle of Body Lotion

• Bag of Cat Food

Or would you be able to do 1 transaction with all 4 items and the card knows what to pay for and what not to pay for?
